We enforce the Animal Control Bylaw and operate the Pound & Adoption Centre for the City of Nanaimo.

To report an incident occurring
in the City of Nanaimo please
call us at 250-616-0233 and speak to staff, or for after hours emergencies listen to the recorded message for instructions.

For animal control in the Regional District of Nanaimo please call Coastal Animal Services at 1-888-754-1397.

To report animal abuse or neglect please call the BCSPCA Cruelty Hotline at 1-855-622-7722.

To report injured deer or human/wildlife conflicts please
call BC Conservation at 1-877-952-7277.

Due to COVID-19, to protect our shelter staff, we ask that the public avoid coming to our facility unless you have made arrangements with us by phone. We are available by phone at 250-616-0233 during our regular business hours.
